Diliman Abdulkader is the co-founder and spokesperson of American Friends of Kurdistan, an independent advocacy and education organization working to advance US-Kurdish relations which cover Kurds in Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Turkey. Mr. Abdulkader comes from a foreign policy and national security background and invests his time on Capitol Hill, educating lawmakers and staffers on the plight of the Kurds. Mr. Abdulkader has written and spoken extensively on the deteriorating human rights situation in Turkey.
Mr. Abdulkader received his M.A. at the American University in Washington, D.C., in International Peace and Conflict Resolution. Mr. Abdulkader was born in Kirkuk and, along with his family, spent seven years at a refugee camp in Syria following the first Gulf War.
